What happened?

The week to Friday August 17 was not a good one for investors in China¹s A share markets.  All the Shenyin & Wanguo sectoral indices fell by 2% (or more). The SSE Composite, SZSE Component and CSI 300 Indices retreated by 2.49%, 3.84% and 3.59% respectively. It should be noted, though, that all three of the indices had risen by nearly 2% in the week to Friday August 10.
